Blogs give you little traction

If you want to get some reaction on your opinion, what I call "traction" where people "digg" your blog, you often find that you get very few hits with a straight blog. Instead, you find you are more productive if you find the appropriate forum on the web, such as something built with phpBB, and then submit that to digg.com. Still, however, sometimes there's just no appropriate place to put something except on your own blog, or it's just easier to put it on your own blog.

Another odd thing is that most blogs don't put everything in retracted headline and short blurb mode, where you can click the link to see the full blog. It would be great if that were the case, but that's not what I'm seeing. Consider this very blog you're reading now at supermikenews.blogspot.com. It takes awhile to load the page, doesn't it?
